Centrifugal Compressors

Centrifugal compressor compresses air and expels it with a centrifugal force from a rotating wheel with radial vanes. Centrifugal compressors are often used for fans and cooling units.Unlike other designs, centrifugal compressors do not operate on the positive displacement principle, but have fixed volume chambers.

The idealized compressive dynamic turbo-machine achieves a pressure rise by adding kinetic energy/velocity to a continuous flow of fluid through the rotor or impeller. This kinetic energy is then converted to an increase in potential energy/static pressure by slowing the flow through a diffuser.

Applications:

1.)In gas turbines and auxiliary power units.
2.)n automotive engine and diesel engine turbochargers and superchargers.
3.)In pipeline compressors of natural gas to move the gas from the production site to the consumer.
4.)In oil refineries, natural gas processing, petrochemical and chemical plants.
5.)In industry and manufacturing to supply compressed air for all types of pneumatic tools.
